Details

Dalteparin may increase the risk of bleeding from heparin. The mechanism is additive inhibition of thrombin and factor Xa. If these agents must be used together, extreme caution is advised, and the patient should be monitored for signs of bleeding. Other low-molecular-weight heparins (LMWHs) may interact with heparin in a similar manner.
