Comments/Instructions
Clarithromycin 500 mg, bid $41.41/week
Second-line therapies:
rifabutin 300 mg, once daily $52.50/week
-Prophylaxis is recommended for patients with a CD4 count below 0.1 ¥ 109 cells/L.
-Clarithromycin has been shown to prolong survival, whereas rifabutin does not confer a statistically significant survival advantage compared with placebo.
