Sequential therapy with amoxicillin plus a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) for 5 days, followed by clarithromycin and metronidazole or tinidazole for 5 days, had a better eradication rate than standard triple therapy in randomized controlled trials performed to date. It is a good alternative for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection in symptomatic patients.
